My earliest memories of seeing DIY bmx freestyle was in the 6th grade. Go! magazine was somehow lumped into our libraries periodical stand. Inside that issue was the coverage of the 2-Hip “meet the street” comp. in Palm Springs.
In my mind, Bmx was California. Bmx was punk. Bmx was captured in black and white.
