Green Bay is trying to get an action sports complex which after a few emails is going through with the only hold back being funding. This is actually sweet cause its been approved and funding is up to us to get creative and make this happen. Here is some info and a link to help out...thanks. -Chad D SourceURL:file://localhost/Users/chaddegr/Desktop/skatepark%20media%20release%201.doc MEDIA RELEASE     [Insert date]                                                     Contact: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                      Brian Schroeder Director, Green Bay Action Sports Organization 920-265-4352 brian@gbaso.com

Local Organization Recruits Pro BMXer to Help Sweep, Fundraise

Green Bay Action Sports Organization will conduct a Stadium Sweep-A-Thon on December 23 to raise funds for an indoor multi-sport complex.

Green Bay, WI – On Sunday, December 23, following the Green Bay Packers home game, the local organization, Green Bay Action Sports Organization (GBASO) will conduct its third Stadium Sweep-A-Thon at Lambeau Field in an effort to raise money to build an indoor multi-sport complex in Green Bay. The indoor complex would house ramps for skateboarding and BMX biking. Also, to help raise awareness for the GBASO and its mission, professional BMXer Brian Kachinsky will be helping the organization sweep after the Packers game. “We've had amazing success with the Sweep-A-Thon so far from seeing schools get involved, local shops, and have an amazing crew of young men and women dedicated to making our vision for an indoor action sports complex a success! Having Brian Kachinsky join our crew for the cleanup means a lot to our organization. He grew up in Menasha -- so he has ties to the area and lives right down the road in Chicago,” said Brian Schroeder, director of the GBASO. PMI Entertainment offers cash to nonprofit organizations to sweep trash at Lambeau Field after home game, and while sweeping the stadium is the platform the fundraiser, the organization is seeking out pledges for its crew of sweepers. The organization is also looking for additional volunteers (ages 14 and up) for  its recycling crew and volunteers (ages 16 and up) for its cleaning crew. Part of the proceeds raised by their Sweep-A-Thon will go to a skateboard competition sponsored by one of the organization’s partners, The Green Bay Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department, and the rest will go into the indoor complex and start-up costs for the organization. “Once we are through the Sweep-A-Thon, our organization will focus on selecting a location for a new park and begin the planning, development, and building process for the indoor facility.  We will also work with the schools on co-curricular skate and BMX clubs to encourage kids to participate, get involved, and stay active,” explained Schroeder. About GBASO: The Mission of the GBASO is to grow and develop the action sports community in Green Bay, build an indoor multi-sport complex to serve the needs of the community, and to grow youth participation through school and community outreach. The organization believes an indoor multi-sport complex will give children an indoor environment to learn, participate, and excel at the sports they love. The GBASO is currently accepting donations at www.gbaso.com. Here is the branding one second after it happened.
